Your Ceremony, Your Story

Hello readers!

For a long time, I wondered what I would like to do once I decided on a change from a very full and enjoyable life working and touring all over Australia as a performer in schools. I loved my work, connecting with people and making a difference through performance that engaged teachers and students with shows that supported Key Learning areas. However, I was ready for change.

Just over a year ago I enrolled with Rose Training to study Celebrancy.  A  couple of weeks ago, I received news from the Attorney Generals Department that I am now an Authorised Marriage Celebrant 

Embarking on this journey, becoming an Authorised Marriage Celebrant has been exciting, and finding the perfect words to express my vision and values in a by-line was a stimulating challenge.

I knew one thing for certain: I wanted to make every ceremony as unique and as special as the people I would serve, and came up with a by-line: Your Ceremony, Your Story. 

Our lives are remembered through a series of cherished moments, and ceremonies can mark these moments with significance and meaning. I want to be a part of the crafting of these celebrations and ceremonies that will be etched in the memories of people and their loved ones forever.

For me, being a celebrant is about forming connections with the couples, families, and friends who trust me with their special moments. Your Ceremony, Your Story emphasises the partnership between myself and my clients, where we work together to weave a narrative that reflects their personalities, beliefs, and dreams.

Another reason why this by-line resonates with me is that it is empowering.  It signifies that people have the power to shape their ceremonies according to their wishes, making it a true and unique representation of their values, love, and commitment. 

In a world where standardisation can overshadow the beauty of individuality, Your Ceremony, Your Story is a reminder that love is diverse, and so are the celebrations that honour it. 

Your Ceremony, Your Story serves as a guiding light, reminding me of the path that I've chosen and the commitments that I intend to keep. 

Thank you for joining me here to read this brief exploration of how I came to settle on Your Ceremony, Your Story as my by-line. I am ready and prepared to begin this new chapter in my life and to celebrate the love and stories of all the wonderful souls I will meet along the way.

'We're getting married!  Why do we need an authorised celebrant?' Getting married is fun, it's romantic, it's an opportunity to celebrate your partnership with family and friends.  There's lots to plan. Will we marry at home? or venues to book?, menus to consider, the invitation list, the rings ... and the dress? or the suit? Two dresses? Two suits? and the cake! It's such a wonderful and exciting time, it's understandable that the last thing a you might consider are the processes, that make sure your marriage is legal and registered with Births Deaths and Marriages. You need an authorised celebrant to help you with that.
